Planescape Torment (1999) is the last computer game I really enjoyed. Since the focus of this RPG was on dialogue and events, rather than battles, I had the idea of remaking it as a high-res visual novel using Ren’py. This would include the story, the overhead view with character and spell animations, music and voice acting. The whole experience, except suitable for running on modern hardware, even including android tablets.
I didn’t get much further than this screenshot shows here for various reasons, not least among them the copyright and licencing issues. I still think it would make a fantastic visual novel, and maybe I will one day continue this endeavour.
