ADD would explain a lot of my past and present behavior
- Q: Do you have trouble keeping your attention on one thing at a time?
- A: True, unless I am hyper-focused and obsessing over something. I'm a serial enthusiast.
- Q: Are you easily distracted?
- A: Quite easily, background noise and movement and my own thoughts are hard to filter out.
- Q: Do you tend to be disorganized and/or lose and misplace things?
- A: Yes, I often forget about prior arrangements as well.
- Q: How well can you comprehend and remember things you read?
- A: Things don't really sink in, especially if it's standard text-book reading.
- Q: Do you tend to procrastinate too often?
- A: Yes, although turning off the computer seems to help.
- Q: Do you process well what you hear, e.g. lectures?
- A: I often hear but don't listen. Learning something through experience works a lot faster.
- Q: Do you have trouble following things through to completion?
- A: I'm writing this, sitting on a pile of unfinished projects.
- Q: Do you either rush through things or take too long?
- A: Yes, I'm either done quickly and sloppily or start obsessing over details and probably never finish the damn thing.
- Q: Is it easy to keep your concentration on tasks that are boring?
- A: No, it's quite difficult, explaining my unemployment. I just can't see myself getting done something that's too dull.
